As a long-time vegan myself, I remember what it was like navigating a shift to a new way of eating. Although I was committed to my decision, learning to read labels for hidden ingredients, making sure I covered my nutrition needs, dealing with naysayers, and teaching myself new ways of cooking and baking took time, trial and error, and admittedly, some frustration.

What’s the difference between plant-based and vegan? Aren’t they the same?

While the two terms are often used interchangeably, there are nuances. A plant-based diet can mean anything from still consuming some animal products, but centering meals on plants, to eating exclusively plant-based foods.

Veganism goes beyond diet and is based on ethics. Vegans eat a 100% plant-based diet and aim to avoid use of household products and cosmetics that are made with animal-based ingredients or have been tested on animals and don’t wear clothing made from animal skin or fur.

Do I have to go completely plant-based/vegan if I work with you?

Nope. That’s 100% up to you. No pressure or judgment from me, promise.

Will I lose weight on a plant-based diet?

While that happens for some people, that’s not the focus of our work together. We will focus more on getting a variety of foods, feeling satisfied, and getting all the nutrients necessary to live a healthy plant-based life!

Can you help me manage or reverse high blood pressure, high cholesterol, blood sugar issues, etc. with a plant-based diet?

Yes. I will take into account your specific health concerns and work with you to make individualized recommendations.
